About

CB Press, founded in 2019, is the publishing home of composer, educator, arranger, and orchestrator Christopher R. Brown.

Chris began studying music at an early age, first learning the piano from his aunt, and then studying the trombone. After graduating with his ARCT in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music in high school, he developed a keen interest in composition and soon began studying the scores of great films and classical masterpieces. Out of these studies came a love for composing, premiering his first work for full orchestra entitled NOAH: A Symphonic Poem in university. In addition to studying composition and performance at the post-secondary level, he has studied orchestration privately with Bradley Knight (Prestonwood Baptist, Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir).

Out of this training comes a deep-rooted desire to create music at its highest level, both aurally and visually. Whether writing an arrangement, orchestrating, or composing an original piece, Chris displays this passion for musical excellence through the quality of his work, both as a composer and as an engraver.

In recent years, opportunities in the education, stage musical, and sacred music markets have allowed Chris to contribute to a number of projects, both as an arranger/orchestrator and as a composer. He has contributed his skills on projects in the musical theatre world, writing underscore material, providing background music for Youtube videos and advertisements, arranging and recording accompaniment tracks for worship, and producing scores and parts for school ensembles.

As a follower of Christ, Chris especially enjoys being able to use the gift of music to serve the Lord and praise the Creator of music itself. He is the pianist and choral accompanist at his home church and loves to minister to others alongside fellow musicians who share the same passion and desire to lift high the name of Jesus.

Chris makes his home in Ontario, Canada with his beautiful wife, Stephanie (a brilliant flutist), and 1-year-old son.
